Growing Power awarded $5 Million Grant

Christopher Weber, from The Grist, has written a great article about Kellogg’s support of urban farming, progressive farming techniques, and the $5 million grant that the W. K. Kellogg Foundation has awarded to Growing Power. Although I love Kellogg’s progressive thinking, I also love Weber’s comment that, “In other words, via the foundation, Fruit Loops and Pop Tart profits are training people to eat things other than Fruit Loops and Pop Tarts.” Ha! Now that is vision.

Apparently, this has been in the works for a few months, but it was just announced at last weeks seminars at Growing Power. It is pretty exciting.
